THOUGHTS FROM SPEECHES:
Don't believe the wishful thinkers with their glossaries of optimistic phrases. "What man can believe, man can achieve" sounds nice. But the fact is, you must use the talents and gifts within yourself, within your own limits. It is those very limits, knowing them and using them, that make your life and work take on enchanted dimensions.
And don't put limits on yourself. Start by negating all partial prophesies about you that your often well-meaning and just as often poorly equipped parents, professors, siblings, friends, and employers put on you. You are the only one who gets to determine who you are.
What is the relationship between followers and leaders? The act of leading others is that you create more leaders. The ultimate act of leadership is creating great leaders. It's a complex set of issues around what really happens when leadership happens; because you don't become a passive follower, instead you feel stimulated and empowered to do more yourself.
